What Is Professional Teeth Whitening?

A bright, dazzling smile can go a long way toward making a good first impression, so it's understandable why there's such high demand for effective teeth whitening treatments. Thankfully, Presidential Dental Group in Washington, D.C. can help you enhance your smile with professional-grade teeth whitening. Our practice is proud to offer treatments using the Philips Zoom teeth whitening system, which can brighten teeth up to eight shades in a single treatment while also reducing sensitivity. Unlike many of the over-the-counter teeth whitening products lining grocery store shelves, professional whitening treatments at our office are stronger, addressing deep-set stains for a brighter smile that lasts longer. Call our office today to schedule your professional teeth whitening appointment with Dr. Kami'Lah Brown.

How Does Professional Teeth Whitening Work?

Teeth whitening treatments can be performed at our Washington, D.C. office in as little as 45 minutes. After covering your gums to protect them, a member of our team will apply the Zoom professional-strength whitening gel to your teeth. Once the gel is applied, a special lighting system will then be used to accelerate the whitening process. To preserve your new, brighter smile, we recommend avoiding coffee, red wine, or any other foods that can discolor teeth. You may also want to schedule regular touch-ups to go with your routine dental cleanings and exams so you can continue to enjoy a healthy, stunning smile.

My entire experience with Presidential Dental has been absolutely amazing. The 1st time we spoke was at 4:30 in the afternoon and was able to schedule an appointment for the next day. When I arrived every single person on the staff greeted me. I waited for about 7 minutes before being taken into an examination room. I scheduled the appointment to address a come and go pain on the upper right side of my mouth. Thought I was going to have a tooth extracted. After the exam I learned that I would need to have 3 teeth removed. Makes sense as I had not been to the dentist in over 7 years. Saying "terrified" doesn't accurately give the full view of how scared I am of 'The Dentist'. 3 extractions? I told Dr. Brown that I would die before I had 3 teeth removed. She then explained to me the various studies and evidence that show how problems that start in your mouth can become systemic issues over time. Alzheimer's even pops up in these studies. But even with all of this evidence, she backed up, realizing how stressed and worried I was. Dr. Brown explained that she could call in a prescription that would help with my anxiety over the procedure. Done deal. We set a date 2 weeks away ( to give me time to process all of this ). I called my insurance company the next day to get some billing details and learned that Presidential Dental was out of my network. I told my dental administrator that this is where I was going because I was comfortable with how everything was explained and specifically Dr. Brown's professionalism. What stuck out to me is when she explained WHAT needed to be done. She stressed that she never says, "this is going to be easy". She said that what I needed done was straight-forward for her and her team. The day before my appointment I received a text informing me that my prescription was ready. I followed the instructions and arrived at the office the next day feeling unusually calm. Now, the reason I'm terrified of the dentist is because of my last visit. 5 needles to the gums - and I felt every one of them. When I explained this to Dr. Brown she said, "not today". She then applied some jelly-like substance on my gums and within a couple minutes I couldn't feel when I tapped against my cheek. Then she picked up the syringe! I barely felt the first one and don't know how many hits there were in total because I didn't feel anything else. 10 minutes later it was all done! Dr. Brown sat down with me and went over the post op instructions and then called in my prescriptions. I still had not felt any discomfort 2 hours later when I got to the pharmacy. Marked the time and then started the pills regimen. Woke up today with nothing but a very slight swelling in the area of the extractions - that has already gone down as I'm typing this 13 hours after the visit. There was not one aspect of my experience that could have been better. It doesn't seem possible that there could be a better dentist - or staff - than Presidential Dental. Thank you, Dr. Brown.

Always a great dental experience here. I was a patient for about 1.5 years and I only left because I moved out of state. I had cavity fillings, onlays, and regular cleanings and almost every appointment went very smoothly. All the staff was amazing too from the dentist to the front desk staff to the hygienist. It’s nice to be surrounded by women of color when you’re in a vulnerable and probably anxious state haha.

Great team, great music, great cleanings! Special shout out to Tiffany, one of the best most relaxed cleanings I’ve ever had!
